JiaYuan acted as China law counsel to China Communications Construction Company Limited (“China Communications Construction”) on its global IPO and listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (“HKSE”) under the ticker of 1800.HK, which was completed on 15 December 2006. The Company sold 3.5 billion H-shares and raised US$2.1 billion.

This IPO pioneered the first listing of the entire business of a state-owned enterprise at the national level. It was also done at a record speed, bearing in mind China Communications Construction was established less than one year ago following the merger of two PRC infrastructure construction groups.

China Communications Construction is a leading PRC transportation infrastructure group. It is world's largest container crane manufacturer and China’s largest port construction and dredging company. This IPO provided investors with direct exposure to China's infrastructure growth and received overwhelming response from investors – the retail portion was 220 times over-subscribed and the institutional tranche received over 1,000 orders for US$160 billion in aggregate.
